Shaqiri: A joint and open labor market will further connect the Western Balkan region

The Republic of North Macedonia and the Western Balkan countries are working intensively for the effective implementation of the agreements that outline the goal of our region for becoming a connected, joint and open market.

The meeting held in Nish was attended by working groups from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ministry of Information Society and Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, as well as representatives of the Accreditation Institute, Customs Administration, Food and Veterinary Agency, Inspectorate of Agriculture, Phytosanitary Directorate, State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate.

The next steps that will allow the initiative "Open Balkans" to provide free access to the labor market from next year were established at the meeting thereof.

"Open Balkan ID" will provide free access to the labor market and facilitate the import, export and movement of goods in the Western Balkans, thus opening a number of benefits to citizens throughout the region.
