Minister Shaqiri was part of the online event: Promotion of the Report for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations from the Report for corruption risk assessment during public sector employment procedures

The Minister of Information Society and Administration Jeton Shaqiri took part on the event organized by Transparency International - Macedonia, for promotion of the second quarterly report for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations from the Report for corruption risk assessment in public sector employment procedures. The report was drafted within the project "Strengthening Institutional Capacities in the Fight against Corruption", financially supported by USAID within the Civic Engagement Project.

The Deputy President for Corruption and Crime, Sustainable Development and Human Resources, Mr. Ljupco Nikolovski, the President of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption, Ms. Biljana Ivanovska and the President of Transparency Macedonia International Mrs. Slagjana Taseva were participants on this event.

During his addressing, Minister Shaqiri referred to what has been done so far, emphasizing that the professionalization of the administration is one of the main objectives of the public administration reform process in the Republic of North Macedonia.

"The top priority remains the efforts to depoliticize the administration through the strengthened application of the merit principles, equal opportunities and adequate and equitable representation and professionalization of senior management positions," said Minister Shaqiri.

In that regard, the Minister pointed out the new package of laws, which will overcome all problems and detected shortcomings. This includes the Law on Public Sector Employees, the Law on Administrative Servants and the Law on Top Management Service, which were drafted inclusively and with the full engagement of all stakeholders, with the support of SIGMA, the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the Center for Change Management.

Minister Shaqiri emphasized that the inter-institutional cooperation and coordination will be further deepened and that there is political will to implement the recommendations of the Report.
